Dr. Casler provided various tips and approaches for talking to vaccine-hesitant patients/caregivers and what makes people vaccine hesitant vs. vaccine confident. Dr. Casler reinforced that pharmacists are the most accessible healthcare providers, and how our role is vitally important to helping patients become vaccine confident. She closed her presentation by providing various resources for student pharmacists to use in the future. She encouraged them to stay educated on vaccines and how to debunk the myths that continue to pop up.

<a10:updated>2022-04-06T14:03:32-04:00</a10:updated>

West Virginia Pharmacy Association 2022 Spring Conference recap

The 2022 West Virginia Pharmacy Association (WVPA) Spring Conference was more like a homecoming as members gathered in person once again. The conference, hosted by WVPA and the West Virginia Society of Health System Pharmacists (WVSHP), was held April 1-3 at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, WV.

<a10:updated>2022-04-06T13:16:17-04:00</a10:updated>

WVU School of Pharmacy top 9% in the nation for PGY1 residency placement in 2022

The West Virginia University School of Pharmacy left its mark on Match Day 2022 with a percentage rate above the national average for post graduate year one (PGY1) residency placement. The students were very engaged. Their time at the School of Pharmacy began with an academic presentation from Dr. Mary Euler, followed by a student/parent tour of Dr. Mohammed Nayeem's lab. Later, students went to a lab to compound lip balm with Jenn Clutter and student ambassadors while parents took a tour of the Health Sciences Center. Finally, everyone met with Drs. Euler and Hanif in the Pharmacy Skills Development Center's student Lounge for a debriefing before continuing the rest of their Decide WVU activities. We've had positive feedback from at least one parent.

<a10:updated>2022-03-29T16:47:05-04:00</a10:updated>

Alumnus returns to SoP for Luzzi Lectureship, discusses inclusivity and leadership

On Friday, March 25, Brian Lawson (PharmD,' 08) returned to the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy to serve as the 2022 Lois A.
